Employee Spotlight – Meet David Helm

David Helm has nearly 40 years of experience in the construction industry, 18 of those with Mowery. He appreciates Mowery’s focus on quality and safety in his role as Project Superintendent
David is laser-focused on the construction process from initial discussions to final steps, ensuring the finished product complies with design, safety and quality standards. Relationships matter to him, “You need to give your subcontractors the opportunity to do quality work to maintain a good relationship. You need to be flexible when changes happen throughout the project.”
He appreciates that Mowery puts client satisfaction, quality and safety ahead of profitability and upholds Mowery’s commitment to being transparent and keeping customers in the loop throughout the process.
“You need to run each project with the idea that it will be the best you’ve ever done,” David says, “The end result should be a happy customer who will want Mowery to be their go-to contractor.”
Having attended The Pennsylvania State University where he focused on project management, David has a wide range of experience with many types of building construction and site improvements. He’s also trained in OSHA safety and first aid/CPR, and he brings his expertise to a variety of projects he manages at Mowery. He’s known for tightly running projects to ensure the best results for not only the client, but for Mowery as well.
“David is a prime example of someone who cares deeply about client results and does his best in every interaction and communication,” says David Cross, president of Mowery. “I’m proud to have him as a member of this team.”
In his free time, David enjoys woodworking and golf, and his favorite professional sport is the National Hockey league. He has one son, and if he could travel to anywhere in the world, he would go to Yellowstone National Park.
Quick fact: His favorite day of the year is Christmas Eve.
