Due to past remarkable experiences, Bobby Rahal Lexus trusted Mowery once again to expand their auto dealership enterprise. The client tasked Mowery to design and build their new Lancaster County state-of-the art facility to include an 18-bay full-service garage, ancillary car ports for detailing, an environmentally-friendly automatic car wash, and more than 350 vehicle storage spaces.

The Mowery team was able to achieve the client’s goals to produce a final result as luxurious as the Lexus brand itself through proactive planning and transparent communication despite project disruptions caused by pandemic shutdowns and protocol changes in early 2020, as well as design changes during construction.

Early in the project, state-wide shutdowns halted construction and caused unforeseen delays. To get ahead of anticipated shortages, materials were ordered in advance, and all parties coordinated daily to ensure the impact of the lost time was lessened. Additionally, scheduling was aligned to handle the structural steel portion on the front half of the building and the masonry work on the back half of the building to happen simultaneously. Further, when the client requested an expansion on the office area and bathroom, the Mowery team wasted no time on the redesign and adjustment of the timeline to accommodate. With the help of the construction management tool, Procore, everyone was able to stay in the loop on every detail to keep the project on schedule and at the highest quality.
