Warehouse Turned Ballet Studio

The facility which now houses the world-renowned Central Penn Youth Ballet (CPYB) was originally a warehouse and storage facility for Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA. The college donated the warehouse space to CPYB as their programs began to grow and the need for space increased. Mowery has been influential in helping to adapt the space to the growing needs of CPYB through the years.

This recent project gave a much-needed facelift to the entry to the facility, a state-of-the-art performance theatre that can house up to 250 attendees and upgraded both the administrative offices of the ballet and the various studios throughout.

The CPYB project required careful coordination and adaptation as the youth ballet remained operational during the construction process. This involved careful scheduling, temporary relocation of multiple spaces, and diligent communication to mitigate any potential conflicts or inconveniences.

In preparation for the project, CPYB also needed to clear out their set storage areas. Recognizing the urgency and importance of the task, the Mowery team went beyond their defined roles by volunteering over the weekend to help CPYB move their equipment in time for construction to begin uninterrupted. This act of generosity and support demonstrated Mowery’s commitment to not only delivering a successful project but also fostering a positive and collaborative relationship with the client.
