This project was a reflection of Giant listening to their customers’ needs and developing innovative solutions to maintain them as long-term customers.
As consumers continue to increase the demand to receive their purchases faster and more conveniently, it is no surprise that companies are developing innovative ways to meet their customers’ needs. Mowery was contracted to renovate a previous Giant grocery store into a brand new GIANT DIRECT facility. This new GIANT DIRECT, Powered by Peapod, is the first of its kind from GIANT Food Stores. This innovative store brings nearly 150 jobs to the Lancaster, PA area, as compared to the 75 jobs the previous traditional grocery store model provided. The new store model allows Giant to help customers place grocery and home goods orders who may not have access to the internet or are comfortable with ordering items online. Customers can place orders via website, app, or at the store. Upon placing an order, customers can choose whether they’d like to pick their order up at the store or have their order delivered to an address.
