IPT 51&53 Commerce Drive

IPT1

Award-winning, this warehouse was complex in nature and had a very tight timeline.

IPT Commerce Drive was a special project due to its size, complexity and speed. Industrial projects often are categorized as “simple” but these days the sites which are constructed with the warehouses are often very complex and consume lots of time/resources to complete. The site alone consisted of 300,000 cubic yards of material which needed to be moved. As a part of that, 75,000 was rock removal. Add to that the simultaneous construction of two 325,000 square foot warehouses, you have an extremely complex schedule which requires intense coordination. All in all, the project only took 6 months to construct the buildings and another two months to complete the site work. This was a remarkably fast schedule to complete two massive warehouse project.

The design team consisted of Ware Malcomb, Alpha Engineers, Walton & Co (D/B Mechanical and Plumbing), BBEC (D/B Electrical). The team knew that the schedule was aggressive but everyone worked together to seamlessly design and build an efficient and well-planned building.

Upon completion, this project was submitted to ABC Keystone – Excellence in Construction award and won a Merit Award.
