When Knoll Textiles needed support completing an elaborate, high-end fit-out on their existing industrial building, we were happy to support the process. Serving as general contractor and utilizing our industry expertise and PARTNER Program, our team provided a remarkable construction experience focused on the end goal while building synergies, efficiencies, and trust along the way.

Knoll Textiles wanted to enhance the design of their existing warehouse space, specifically their offices and conference rooms. Although a smaller industrial fit-out, this project was not without unique challenges.

With the industrial facility already built and this project being a fit-out, the Mowery team had a very tight timeline of only four months to complete the task. Part of the construction process included installing new electrical switchgear and a second gas meter with all associated systems since Knoll Textiles’ corporate space only took up half of the facility. Further, the architectural design included a lot of glass work, prompting our team to construct glass walls at the offices and conference rooms as well as frameless glass entry doors to those offices. Since new man doors were needed, the team had to sawcut into the side of the precast concrete building to add the new egress and infill an existing man door, then parge and paint it to blend into the structure. As the project progressed, architectural changes were made, and the Mowery team was challenged with keeping the project on schedule. Not only did we face challenges with the project design, but we also had to account for unexpected inclement weather and holiday delays.
