Presbyterian Senior Living
The Presbyterian Senior Living Windy Hill II construction project was Mowery’s first Passive House project. The concept of Passive House is simple: The more airtight the building, the less the HVAC system must work, the lower the monthly energy bill, resulting in a more affordable living situation (which also can make them a great option for affordable housing projects too). Through close attention to detail, Mowery was able to follow the design flawlessly and execute to the degree that all of Mowery’s clients have come to expect. PHIUS, Passive House Institute of United States, performed several air-leakage tests of the 48-unit building and was shocked to see Windy Hill’s results as the lowest ever seen by the PHIUS organization. A truly remarkable feat.

Cross Keys Village
When Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community was seeking a general contractor to construct three senior living apartment buildings our team stepped up to the challenge. Phase One of the Hearthside Apartments project was unique because our team was constructing three different buildings at once leading to numerous challenges compounded by complications arising from the COVID-19 pandemic. With over 12 years of experience building better care for senior living communities, we used our knowledge and experience to overcome these challenges with thoughtful coordination and daily contact with our subcontractors and partners. Given the unique challenges on this project, Mowery still completed the Hearthside Apartments on time and within budget exceeding the client’s expectations.

Menno Haven
Northgate Commons is a centrally located community building of the Brookview complex at Menno Haven. The facility provides residents with access to a health club, pool, whirlpool spa, classroom for exercise programs, fitness room and massage therapy. Residents can enjoy meals at the café and restaurant complete with private dining, a well-appointed game room, center for creative arts, library and business center, and a full-service beauty salon. As Mowery completed the renovations on site, our team was – as always – careful to be courteous to residents by keeping a clean and safe worksite. We coordinated with leadership at Menno Haven to ensure proper protocols were followed for optimal communication and coordination regarding traffic patterns.
