As “baby boomers” are increasingly entering senior living and continuing care retirement communities, housing facilities on senior living campuses are working hard to keep up with the unique preferences of this generation. Cross Keys Village partnered with Mowery to complete the construction of their newest housing facility, Hearthside, which is geared specifically towards these “newer” seniors.
About the Project
In today’s highly competitive senior living market, new facilities must provide first-class style in order to distinguish itself as these little touches have become an expectation and not an option. Hearthside is designed to reflect local architecture on the exterior and provide comfortable community space on the interior. Rustic touches, like barn doors and farm sinks in the kitchen, stand out from neutral designs of most housing options currently available.
Project Scope
The project scope consists of the construction of three new independent living apartment buildings. Each building is two stories and approximately 23,000 SF. This project is phase one of a major expansion to their overall campus in Hanover, PA.
Nearly 50 units are planned to be built in the coming years allowing Cross Keys Village to grow and expand as the ever-growing numbers of the “baby boomers” enter the continuing care retirement communities. Each facility will include 10 apartment units, garages, high-end finishes and lush amenities.
It is an honor to be working with Cross Keys Village, as they are the largest single-site nonprofit retirement community in PA. Mowery’s looking forward to building world class senior homes and a long-lasting relationship with the entire team on the project.
