Featured Project: Wilson College Veterinary Education Center

Wilson College’s Veterinary Medical Technology program provides students with the real-world skills they need to work with animals of all sizes as a veterinary technologist. Plus, the program also provides an option to concentrate in Equi-Assist, which is a first-of-its-kind program in the nation.

The veterinary medical technology program is one of Wilson College’s most desired majors and was carefully crafted to meet the accreditation criteria by the American Veterinary Medical Association, an organization that aims to protect and elevate the quality of veterinary care in the U.S.

Being a rich source of enrollment, Wilson College sought to improve the program’s facility space to provide students with a better experience throughout their training. Generous gifts from board members and alumni assisted in the effort to replace the 20-year-old Helen M. Beach ’24 Veterinary Medical Center.

Now 8,900 SF, the new veterinary education center not only provides additional space for its students but also surgery rooms, dental room, recovery room as well as kennels, indoor run area for dogs, cat room, lounge, clinical practice area and laundry facilities. The project required demolition of existing buildings, 800 SF of renovation of an existing building and construction of a new parking lot. 

Mowery is proud of the relationship it has built with Wilson College over the years and is honored to have expanded and renovated various buildings on the campus including  the commons space, Harry L. Brooks Science Center and John Stewart Memorial Library.
