Mowery has been named a Platinum STEP Safety Award recipient for the second consecutive year. This prestigious award demonstrates Mowery’s commitment to enhancing their safety procedures to reduce jobsite accidents.

“At Mowery, safety is not optional, and our goal is to send our team members home safely every night. STEP allows us to evaluate our safety processes, implement best practices, track our performance, and ultimately, keep our team safe. We are proud to be recognized for our commitment to jobsite safety and hope to maintain this status for years to come,” David Cross, president and owner.

To be awarded the Platinum STEP Safety Award, Mowery’s total recordable incident rate (TRIR) had to be 25 percent below the NAICS code average and their experience modification rate (EMR) had to be 0.8. Being honored with the platinum status means Mowery is 300 percent safer than the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics industry average.

The Associated Builders and Contractor’s safety training and evaluation process (STEP) is a safety management system for commercial and industrial contractors, as well as suppliers. The system allows participating companies to measure their safety processes and policies on 24 key components through a detailed questionnaire with the goal of reducing accidents and injuries in the field.
